Last updated: 4 October 2026

This policy explains how Petalform LLC ("we", "us") handles information in Interactive Chemistry ("the app") for iOS and Android. Interactive Chemistry teaches chemistry through simulated experiments. It has no accounts or sign-in, and its lessons, simulations and Sandbox Lab run entirely on your device and work offline.

Your learning stays on your device

Your lesson progress and checkpoints, saved Sandbox Lab experiments, and app settings (such as sound, haptics, motion and what you are studying) are stored only on your device, in the app's local storage. We do not receive, store or have access to them. They do not sync between devices.

Because this data lives on your device, it may be included in your device's own backups (iCloud backup on iOS, Google backup on Android) if you have them turned on. Those backups are handled by Apple or Google under their privacy policies. Deleting the app deletes its data, except any copies in your own device backups, and we cannot recover it for you.

Information that leaves your device

WhatWhy
Usage analytics (you can turn this off): a small set of product events, such as a lesson started or completed, a chapter completed, which view (Observe, Particles or Symbols) was opened, a chemical added in the Lab, or the paywall viewed. Events include the lesson, chapter or chemical involved, a result such as measurement accuracy, the platform, the app version and a random install identifier. They do not include your name, email, contacts, location, advertising identifier or anything you type. Events are queued on your device and sent in batches to PostHog when you are online. To understand which lessons work and where learners get stuck, so we can improve the app.
Crash reports: if the app crashes or hits an error, technical details such as the error, the app version, device model and operating-system version are sent to Sentry. Crash reports do not include personal information or user identifiers. To find and fix bugs.
Purchase status: when you view, buy or restore the Full Chemistry unlock, RevenueCat receives transaction details from Apple or Google, an anonymous app user ID, and basic app, device, operating-system and country information. Payment details are handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see your card.To offer, verify and restore your one-time purchase.

The install identifier and the app user ID are random values created for the app. They are not derived from your name, email or contacts, and they are not linked to your identity. Like any internet request, these requests carry your device's IP address; we do not use it to identify you.

Interactive Chemistry does not include advertising. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and the app does not ask for tracking permission. Apple and Google may provide us with aggregated install, sales and crash statistics under their own privacy terms.

Permissions

Interactive Chemistry does not request access to your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, location or notifications. On Android it uses network access (for purchases, analytics and crash reports), in-app billing, and vibration (for haptics).

Service providers

We use these providers. They process the limited information above only on our behalf:

  • PostHog: product analytics.
  • Sentry: crash and error reporting.
  • RevenueCat: verifies and restores the Full Chemistry unlock.
  • Apple and Google: in-app purchases, app distribution and device backups, under their own privacy policies.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Security

Your progress is protected by your device's own security (passcode, encryption and app sandboxing). Information sent to our providers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your choices and deleting your data

  • Turn off analytics: Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous usage data. Turning it off stops future events and discards any events not yet sent. It cannot recall events already received.
  • Reset your progress: Settings → Reset progress clears completed lessons and checkpoints on your device. It does not affect your purchase. Saved Lab experiments can be deleted individually in the Lab.
  • Delete everything: deleting the app removes all of its data from your device (except copies in your own device backups).
  • Purchase records are kept by Apple, Google and RevenueCat as needed to provide your purchase, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations. To ask us about them, email support@petalformllc.com.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise them.

Children

Interactive Chemistry is designed for high-school and college chemistry students and curious learners. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy, for example if we add features. We will change the "Last updated" date and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
